📅 15–16 October 2025
🎫 Join Us for BeeComp 2025 – A Global Workshop on Computational Apiculture
🔹 Overview
BeeComp 2025 – International Workshop on Interdisciplinary Advances in Computational Apiculture explores the transformative potential of digital technologies in modern beekeeping.
As apiculture enters the era of data-driven innovation, the workshop aims to highlight how artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), remote sensing, and geographic information systems (GIS) can improve hive health, support pollination, and enable sustainable practices.
The event brings together experts from agriculture, computer science, and ecology to share research, tools, and case studies that contribute to the future of intelligent and resilient beekeeping.
🔸 Objectives
- Showcase current advancements in the application of AI, IoT, and GIS in apiculture to enhance hive monitoring and health management.
- Foster interdisciplinary collaboration between researchers in agriculture, data science, and ecology to address apicultural challenges.
- Promote data-driven decision support systems and optimization methods for beekeeping operations such as route planning, resource allocation, and disease forecasting.
- Prepare the ground for a peer-reviewed special issue consolidating research outcomes and best practices in computational apiculture.
🔶 Key Themes
- AI and Machine Learning for Hive Health Monitoring: Neural networks, pattern recognition, and predictive analytics to detect diseases, stress factors, and colony trends.
- Remote Sensing and UAVs for Pollinator Mapping: Using drones, satellite data, and GIS tools to monitor habitats and floral resources.
- Smart Sensors and IoT in Apiculture: Real-time hive monitoring with environmental and in-hive sensors (temperature, acoustics, motion, etc.).
- Blockchain for Honey Traceability: Ensuring transparency and authenticity of honey products using secure blockchain protocols.
- Decision Support Systems for Apiary Management: Tools for feeding, treatment, and movement optimization.
- Predictive Modeling of Environmental Stressors: Data-driven models to forecast colony collapse risks, pesticide impact, and climate-related threats.
We invite researchers, practitioners, and innovators to submit abstracts and full papers related to the application of computational technologies in apiculture.
Submissions should focus on AI applications, smart hive systems, sensor networks, remote sensing, decision support tools, blockchain-based traceability, and ecological modeling.
