BEE-OPTIMA International Workshop on ICT-enabled Optimization and Digital Innovation in Beekeeping BEE-OPTIMA International Workshop is a scientific and technical event conducted in English and open to international participants. Hosted at the national level, it brings together researchers, engineers, practitioners, and policymakers who are shaping the future of data-driven and digitally optimized beekeeping. Organized under the BEE-OPTECH4Honey Project, the workshop focuses on the intersection of information and communication technologies (ICT), optimization methods, and digital transformation in apiculture. It explores how advanced computational approaches — such as mathematical optimization, artificial intelligence, sensor integration, and data analytics — can enhance decision-making in beekeeping operations, from hive placement and migration route planning to productivity prediction and sustainable resource allocation. The workshop aims to foster discussion on how digital innovation and optimization modeling can improve both ecological sustainability and economic efficiency in modern beekeeping systems. By integrating ICT infrastructures, IoT-based monitoring, GIS-driven spatial intelligence, and multi-criteria decision models, BEE-OPTIMA envisions a new paradigm for smart, connected, and resilient apiculture networks.
